From Louisville, Kentucky: League of Women Voters of Kentucky President, Teena Halbig noted, "It takes a local community of committed individuals to develop healthy civil society. Every forum participant is asked to pledge to take action to build a better world. Through our network, you can volunteer, give, or build understanding.
Voices in Harmony: October Action
The Daniel Pearl Foundation's 6th annual "World Music Days" runs October 1st through October 15th.
Commemorating Danny's October 10th birthday, World Music Days uses music to encourage international fellowship and promote "Harmony for Humanity." This worldwide event has brought together hundreds of thousands of people joined in the belief that the things that unite us are bigger than those that divide us. Registered performances this year include Elton John, Itzak Perlman, Ravi Shankar, and Herbie Hancock.
