EDWARDS WOULD END LOBBYIST ELECTION BRIBES TO CANDIDATES

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

JOHN EDWARDS has called for an end of de facto bribes from lobbyists to
federal candidates in the form of campaign contributions. He would also
lower the limite on contributions from $2300 to $1000 and provide a
matching system under which a contribution of $100 would be matched by
$800 in federal funds while a $1000 contribution would receive the same
match. The result: two $100 contributions would be as valuable to the
candidate as one $1000 contribution. Edwards also called for all voting
machines to use paper ballots.
