White House Covered Up Safety Concerns After 9/11 [VIDEO]

Former EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman tries to explain the logic of the Bush Administration's preoccupation with the markets and shopping instead of the safety of New Yorkers and 9/11 workers.

Can we officially retire the phrase "letting the terrorists win" from our nation's vernacular at this point? I hope so. I was heartened and overjoyed to see my crappy former governor, Christie Todd Whitman (I'm from Jersey originally) and EPA administrator for the Bush Administration during 9/11, roundly booed for making that comment in the video to your right. It's even more poignant to know that she was being booed by the very 9/11 workers and their families who are suffering from and in some cases dying from having inhaled air that Whitman repeatedly insisted on the nation's airwaves was safe. There are of course others to blame for this tragedy of neglect. For many, Rudy Giuliani was the elephant in the room. But I don't think for a second that Whitman should be allowed to pass off the buck and gratefully the congressional Democrats at her hearing didn't let her. Check out the video to your right for more.
