Libby: The Fall Guy

While Scooter Libby was guilty as charged, his conviction was not a satisfying end to the Plame leak case. Nonetheless, Dick Cheney's former top aide and one of the chief architects of the Iraq war, is now a criminal and a glaring symbol of an administration that has lost credibility. Libby is not only a fall guy for Cheney; he's a poster-child for the Bush administration. The problem, as David Corn writes, is that the guilty verdict applies only to Libby, but the guilt extends well beyond his actions.

Yesterday, three dozen town meetings -- including that of the state's Republican governor -- endorsed articles of impeachment and called on Congress to do the same.
