The Supreme Court agreed Monday to consider whether the Bush administration must
regulate carbon dioxide to combat global warming. The decision means the court

Global Warming Surpassed Natural Cycles in Fueling 2005 Hurricane Season

in the waters of the tropical North Atlantic in 2005, while natural cycles were
only a minor factor, according to a new analysis by Kevin Trenberth and Dennis

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is slated to release a new set of
flood maps that could force California cities to spend millions on repairing
local levees. Reps. Dennis Cardoza of Merced, Richard Pombo of Tracy, and 16
other California representatives asked FEMA to delay release of those maps,
which could send shock waves through their constituencies just weeks before the
November election.
