This is a letter that I wrote to Senator Murray after reading her Newsletter of April 7, 2006. I am extremly dissapointed in the Democratic "leadership". They seem to be no different from the Repug's. It is time to either start looking for alternative candidates or an alternative party.
Dear Senator Murray.
In your most recent newsletter you said , and I quote:
"In the three years since the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, our country and Congress have stood together in staunch support of our men and women in uniform.
Our troops are sacrificing every day on behalf of a grateful nation and the least we can provide are the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively. We all want to succeed in our mission in Iraq. We want to achieve our military and policy goals and to bring our troops home safely. We know that this will require sacrifice and that a U.S. presence will be required for some period of time."
For whom are you speaking? This entire war has been sham since before the beginning and the U.S. Congress is complicit in it's involvement and continuation. This nation is not grateful for the American and Iraqi lives that have been lost. This nation is not grateful for the billions of dollars spent and the precious resources squandered on BushCo's pipe dream. "Success" in Iraq is not an achievable goal and needs to be abandoned. We are tired of sacrificing for the benefit of American Corporate interests abroad while we continue to suffer cutbacks to basic human needs here at home Bring our troops home now and redirect the war effort to rebuilding the infrastructure in the U.S.. Start paying attention to what your constituents are saying and how we feel or we will be looking for new representation when you are up for re-election.
Thank you..............PEACE..............T. Scott Brineman
