Wal-Mart will never forget it.

Dear Friends,

Look to the air and to the streets; look in churches and in a movie theater near you. Starting this Sunday, you'll see tens of thousands of people standing up to Wal-Mart.

Will you join us?

Wal-Mart Watch's Higher Expectations Week kicks off on Sunday with hundreds of sermons in churches across the country preaching on corporate responsibility and fair labor standards, the right to affordable healthcare and the importance of small businesses in our communities.

The nationwide week of action continues throughout next week with over 1,100 individual public events including rallies, town halls, canvassing, and over 7,000 house party screenings of Robert Greenwald's new documentary all around the world Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.

Will you join our call for Higher Expectations? Find grassroots events in your neighborhood here:

Here are just a few of the events now planned in all 50 states:

In Madison, Wisconsin
In the Wisconsin State Capital next Wednesday, we will host a Legislative Town Hall Meeting with Rep.Terese Berceau, Rep. Marc Pocan and former Jefferson Alderman Dave Olsen. (You remember Olsen, the Alderman who was recalled earlier this year over his vote against Wal-Mart.)

In Tucson, Arizona
Antigone Bookstore will be displaying Wal-Mart related books and hosting authors to discuss the vast amount of academic interest in the Wal-Mart issue.

In Washington, DC
Our friends at the Center for American Progress will host a half-day symposium featuring top scholars on questions about Wal-Mart, health care, and the economy.

And in New York City
The New Press will release a new volume edited by Nelson Lichtenstein titled "Wal-Mart: The Face of 21st Century Capitalism." Read an exclusive preview chapter of the book here.

And there's more! Just look to the skies and on the ground from Bentonville to Los Angeles next week for surprises, rallies, movie screenings and much much more.

Higher Expectations Week is the next phase of our nationwide campaign to change Wal-Mart. All year long, we've had Wal-Mart against the ropes with our aggressive organizing campaign, research and communications assault. Just two weeks ago, we leaked the now-famous secret memo which reveals the true disrespect Wal-Mart has for its 1.33 million employees. Our leak still has Wall Street buzzing and, as Newsweek Magazine puts it, has Wal-Mart against the wall.

So, will you join our 400+ partner organizations and thousands of Americans to help put the memo in the hands of thousands of Wal-Mart employees and customers?

Will you help us reveal the true impact of Wal-Mart next week?

Help us make it a week that Wal-Mart never forgets!

Thank you,

Aimee Tavares

National Field Director

PS. Not yet convinced about the need to change Wal-Mart's business practices? Check out the secret internal memo we leaked last week. We couldn't have made the case for change any better.
