AP - Magazine publisher Time Inc. is shutting down Life magazine again,
a brand it had resuscitated in late 2004 as a newspaper supplement. Time
Inc. said in a statement Monday that it would keep the Life brand going
on the Internet, where it will launch a Web site with photos from its
massive image collection, and by publishing books. The company cited the
"decline in the newspaper business" and poor advertising outlook as
factors in its decision.

SOME of the best journalism is being done by non-journalists at public
policy organizations. We were reminded of that when we found ourselves
today citing for the third time in a few months the work of Ezekiel
Edwards, a staff attorney at the Innocence Project which works to
exonerate the wrongfully convicted through post-conviction DNA testing
and develop and implement reforms to prevent wrongful convictions. He
contributes to the blog of the Drum Major Institute
