Impeachment Begins Today (WED) in Washington State

Dear Washingtonian,

Please take a moment today to thank the Washington State Senators who co-sponsored Senator Eric Oemig's resolution to impeach. They have taken a political risk to stand up for our us and need our thanks and support. Numbers mean so much to politicians, it is their way of assessing the response of the public.

The Newsweek poll says that 58% of Americans now support impeachment. I think the numbers are higher in Washington State, and will continue to grow as people see that Congress has no intention of ending war in Iraq or preventing war in Iran. We must not sit on our hands while Bush attacks Iran. Impeachment is the way out of this mess. The case for impeachment is clear, and the need is urgent. Please take a moment now to write a short note to the following Washington State Senators. Then get to work on the rest of the Washington State Legislature.

* I have included a sample letter as an example for you. Short and sweet is the best way. Please remember to include your street address when you contact your government officials so they know if you are a resident of Washington State or not. Letters from the rest of the country are also welcome!

Thank you so much for co-sponsoring Eric Oemig's resolution to investigate Bush and Cheney. I believe that impeaching our President is the most important and urgent task to accomplish in this country right now. A government without Rule of Law is illegitimate and cannot be tolerated. First we impeach, then we restore the Constitution, end war in Iraq, and redeem the office of the President.

I wish this task did not fall to us, but Congress has not done its job. I've heard the arguments from the horses mouths, and am tired of the script. I am forwarding a letter I sent in response to Jamie Pedersen that addresses these scripted arguments. Use them well, and feel free to call me with any questions or comments.
