John Lennon - PEACE Activist

Friday was the actual anniversary of John's "assasination". Always the PEACE activist, it's ironic that he should die in such a violent manner..............PEACE....................Scott

On today's anniversary of John Lennon's murder, Jon Wiener looks at the musician/activist's efforts to stop the Vietnam war. Recalling how Lennon had hoped his song "Give Peace A Chance" would save lives, Wiener sees a parallel to today's peace activism. "'Our job now is to tell them there still is hope,' Lennon said at an anti-war rally in Michigan in 1971. 'We must get them excited about what we can do again.' It was hard to see it in 1969, but eventually the US did end its war in Vietnam."
