I tried to post this last week but blogger was having some problems (not operator error.........This time..............LOL). This is the vote on the filibuster. The actual confirmation vote was much closer. If I remember correctly the vote was 53 to 42, with 3 not voting. I don't understand how or why our congressional representatives can't show up to vote, especially on such important issues such as this......................Scott
The 72-25 roll call by which the Senate voted to end debate on Samuel Alito's Supreme Court nomination.
On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote to end the debate and a "no" vote was a vote to filibuster the nomination.
Voting "yes" were 19 Democrats and 53 Republicans.
Voting "no" were 24 Democrats and one independent.
