Field Report:
This week will be an exciting and informative one for PDA's grassroots. We have scheduled three conference calls on three of our most important issues. Marilyn Clement and Joel Segal will conduct a call on single-payer health care on Wednesday. Sherry Bohlen will conduct a conference call on Thursday for those interested in participating in the Impeach Bush & Cheney Working Group. On the following Monday, Rev. Lennox Yearwood will provide an update on the rebuilding of New Orleans and what we can do to help Katrina's victims.

Katrina/Rita Hurricane Victims' Support Conference Call:
PDA Board Member, Rev. Lennox Yearwood, will update us on the victims of the Katrina/Rita hurricanes with particular focus on efforts to rebuild New Orleans. Rev. Yearwood has been on the ground in New Orleans many times since the disaster and will provide up-dates and possible avenues for PDA member involvement in recovery efforts. PDA Is Excited to Endorse Rep. Diane Watson
PDA Board Member Diane E. Watson, Representative of California’s 33rd District, has been a steady and unflagging opponent of the occupation of Iraq. She stood strong with Rep. Jack Murtha when he came under attack for demanding a withdrawal of troops from that country. Rep. Watson has been fighting for lobbying reform in the wake of the Abramoff scandal, and has been standing against the Bush administration's tax cuts for the wealthy. She has also been a strong advocate against the conglomeration of major news media outlets, and has worked for a reintroduction of the Fairness Doctrine. Ms. Jeeni Criscenzo has been endorsed by Progressive Democrats of San Diego (PDSD) and national PDA as candidate for the 49th Congressional District in California.
Her positions on issues are consistent with the platform of Progressive Democrats of America. She stands for honesty, non-violence and environmental responsibility.
