In fact, the ESA has managed to save all but 9 of the 1800 animals listed as endangered from being declared extinct. What your Senator does in the coming weeks is absolutely critical. Pombo's "extinction bill" could easily be combined with any bill that passes the Senate, creating a disastrous bill that would threaten the future protection of species like the humpback whale and the gray wolf.
