Virginia's Rumbling Rebels

The previously safe state of Virginia has become a key battleground in the fight for the Senate. As The Nation's Bob Moser reports in a cover-story for the magazine, for all his lack of political panache, former Reagan cabinet secretary and Democratic candidate James Webb's unlikely campaign for the Virginia Senate is pulling off something few thought was possible in the South: making GOP incumbent George Allen look unreal, elitist and out-of-touch with regular folks.
