| MAKING SENSE 2008 Bad Recession Requires Bold Responses |
| This week we officially learned what most Americans already knew — we've been in a recession for about a year; the second downturn under George W. Bush's leadership. We've lost jobs every month since then, and the last month's losses were the highest since 2002, just after 9/11. It's been a long, painful year-long recession so far. But we haven't seen anything yet. It will be even more painful if our government fails to finally enact a bold, substantial, strategic, and sustained economic recovery program for Main Street, at long last. |
